Crispy Buffalo Chicken Wings
Crispy oven-baked wings tossed in tangy buffalo sauce with blue cheese for dipping.
Instructions
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) with a rack positioned in the upper third.
Prepare Baking Setup
Line a large rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
Dry the Wings
Spread the wing pieces out on a layer of paper towels.
Press paper towels firmly over the tops of the wings to absorb as much moisture as possible.
Season the Wings
In a large bowl, whisk together the baking powder, salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
Add the dried wings to the bowl.
Toss the wings until every piece is evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
Arrange on Rack
Place the seasoned wings in a single layer on the wire rack, leaving a little space between each piece.
Bake the Wings
Bake at 425°F for 25 minutes.
Flip each wing over using tongs.
Continue baking for another 20 minutes until the skin is deep golden and crispy.
Make the Buffalo Sauce
While the wings finish baking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
Add the hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, and cayenne pepper to the melted butter.
Whisk everything together over medium-low heat for about 2 minutes until smooth and combined.
Remove the sauce from the heat and set aside.
Toss Wings in Sauce
Transfer the hot baked wings into a large clean bowl.
Pour the buffalo sauce over the wings.
Toss the wings vigorously until every piece is fully coated in the sauce.
Serve
Arrange the sauced wings on a platter and serve immediately with celery sticks and your choice of dipping sauce on the side.
