Honey Garlic Salmon
Pan-seared salmon glazed with sticky honey-garlic sauce — restaurant quality in 20 minutes.
Instructions
Make the Cornstarch Slurry
In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth.
Mix the Sauce
Add the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes to the bowl with the slurry and stir to combine.
Season the Salmon
Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels on both sides.
Season the flesh side of each fillet evenly with salt and black pepper.
Sear the Salmon
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the oil shimmers.
Place the salmon fillets skin-side up in the skillet, flesh-side down.
Sear undisturbed for 4 minutes until a golden crust forms on the flesh side.
Flip each fillet to skin-side down using a thin spatula.
Cook for 2 more minutes on the skin side.
Add the Glaze
Reduce the heat to medium-low.
Pour the honey garlic sauce mixture evenly around and over the salmon fillets.
Tilt the skillet slightly and use a spoon to baste the tops of the fillets with the sauce.
Continue basting and cooking for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens into a glaze.
Check for Doneness
Check the salmon by pressing the thickest part gently — it should flake easily and appear opaque throughout.
Serve
Transfer the salmon fillets to serving plates.
Spoon any remaining glaze from the skillet over each fillet.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and lemon rounds.
